This course helps students improve professional English communication for successful collaboration. Each topic focuses on a specific area of communication in English: writing emails, communicating at meetings and interviews, giving presentations and communicating online. Students will learn how to communicate more effectively at work to achieve their goals. Communication Skills is an essential course designed to provide students with both the tools they need to improve their communication skills and help them understand how to use successful strategies to their advantage. They will learn how to discover if someone is telling you wrong (and how to react), how to build confidence, how to choose the best way to talk and apologize. They will learn when to collaborate and compete, how to make compelling report presentations, ask thoughtful questions, engage in active listening, and choose the right way to communicate (live chat, video conference, phone call or email) to convey their message. At the end of the course, they will be able to understand what others want, be able to respond strategically to each other’s desires and needs, be able to form convincing and clear messages, and develop the critical communication skills needed to successfully develop their business and personal lives.
This is a one-week intensive course. During the Innovation Week, students will address real-world issues in student teams using a design thinking approach. Under this method, students will focus on both customer and business perspectives. The result of Innovation Week is a tried and tested solution. Topics:
